Replication package for: Abramitzky, Ran, Leah Platt Boustan, and Osea Giuntella. “Enclaves and Assimilation in the Age of Mass Migration: Evidence from Ethnic Catholic Churches.” The Economic Journal, forthcoming (manuscript MS 20251181). The package contains all Stata code (data preparation, builds, and analysis) and documentation needed to reproduce every table and figure in the paper and its online appendix (Tables 1–6 and A.1–A.18; Figures 1 and 4–8 and A.6–A.10), together with the authors’ own redistributable datasets: the matched parish records transcribed from the Official Catholic Directory (1900–1940) with neighbourhood covariates, parochial-school enrolment aggregates, the biblical and saint first-name lookups, and the predicted-income score lookup, each provided in Stata (.dta) and non-proprietary (.csv) format. The analysis relies on restricted-access complete-count US Census microdata (IPUMS/NBER, 1900–1940) and person-level linked files derived from them, which cannot be redistributed; the README documents where these reside on the NBER server, how to obtain access, and how to run the full pipeline there. Also included are the ArcGIS project and inputs for the Chicago map figures (Figures 2–3).
