Coronal activity cycles in solar analog stars

The present program to study for the first time solarlike cycles in the Xrayemission of stars similar to our Sun has been ongoing since XMM s AO1. Fivetargets in three stellar systems have been monitored since 2001, providing forthe first time clear evidence of longterm cycles in the Xray luminosity ofnormal stars, with variations in Xray luminosity of up to an order ofmagnitude.
