THE ROLE OF THE ENDOCRINE SYSTEM IN REGULATING METABOLISM AND GROWTH
收藏资源简介:
This article discusses the role of the endocrine system in regulating metabolism and growth in the human body. The endocrine system consists of glands that produce hormones and release them into the bloodstream. These hormones control many important physiological processes, including energy metabolism, growth, development, reproduction, stress response, and maintenance of homeostasis. The article analyzes the functions of major endocrine glands such as the pituitary gland, thyroid gland, pancreas, adrenal glands, and gonads. Special attention is given to the role of growth hormone, thyroid hormones, insulin, glucagon, cortisol, and sex hormones in controlling body growth and metabolic processes. The study shows that the endocrine system works together with the nervous system to maintain internal balance and ensure normal development of the organism.
