资源简介:
Ticks are second only to mosquitoes in their burden as vectors of diseases, being able to transmit viral, bacterial, protozoan and worm parasites to humans and animals. The tick Ixodes ricinus is the main vector of Lyme disease in Europe, and an important vector of tick-borne encephalitis. Tick parasites to successfully complete their arthropod cycle will need to circulate through the tick hemolymph and evade their vector's immune response, in large part effected by hemocytes, the equivalent of vertebrate white blood cells. To have a better understanding of these cells, it was the aim of this work to identify hemocyte-specific transcripts by assembling transcriptomes from hemocytes, salivary glands and midguts as a single assembly, mapping the reads from the 3 libraries to the contigs and measuring their differential expression.
