We selected a whole-genome sequencing (WGS) panel consisting of 291 accessions of wild emmer wheat (WEW), where the selection was based on both the geographical origin of the accessions and the genetic diversity they represent. This diversity was assessed through genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS) of a larger collection within the Wheat Genetics Resource Center (WGRC) gene bank at Kansas State University. The WGS of the panel was conducted using a PCR-free library prepared with the TruSeq DNA PCR-FREE LT Sample Prep Kit (Illumina, Inc.), followed by paired-end sequencing at Novogene (Novogene Co., Ltd. Beijing, China). The average sequencing coverage for the 291 accessions was 9.5x, with a minimum coverage of 8.8x. These data comprise a pair of FASTQ files (forward/reverse reads) for each accession in the WGS panel.
