In this study, comparative analysis of the fungal microbiota in the rhizosphere soils and bulk soils was performed between a perennial sweet sorghum cultivar NaPBS778 (simply N778) and its control lines TP60 and TP213 by fungal rRNA gene internal transcribed spacer 1 (ITS1) amplicon deep sequencing via Illumina MiSeq platform. The obtained sequence information allowed us to assess the impact of the perennial sweet sorghum line on the rhizosphere and root-inhabiting fungal communities.
