Australasian Diamond Open Access Journal Directory

Established in 2024, this directory provides a listing of Diamond Open Access journals published across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand by universities, research organisations, scholarly societies and other not-for-profit publishers. The directory includes links to journal websites, information on publishing platforms and software, contact details, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) indexing status, and whether a journal is currently active or archived. The directory is compiled and maintained by members of the Australasian Diamond Journal Publishing Community of Practice, a subgroup of the Australian Scholarly Communications Community of Practice (AuSCCoP). AuSCCoP is supported by CAUL (Council of Australasian University Librarians) and Open Access Australasia. The directory aims to improve the visibility and discoverability of Diamond Open Access journals across the region, support collaboration among journal publishers, and provide a valuable resource for researchers, editors, librarians and institutions interested in community-led, not-for-profit scholarly publishing. It also serves as a snapshot of the Australasian Diamond Open Access publishing landscape and supports efforts to strengthen sustainable and equitable approaches to scholarly communication. While every effort is made to maintain an accurate and comprehensive listing, the directory is not exhaustive and may not capture all Diamond Open Access journals operating in the region. The directory is regularly updated by community members, reflecting new journal developments, changes in publishing platforms and journal status, and contributions from participating organisations across the Australasian scholarly publishing community.
