“The file contains the annual number of liveborns in total and those of non-marital babies in Germany (presented in 1,000) from 1871 onwards. Territorial status: 1871 to 1921 German Empire (both territorial status), 1922 to 1943 territorial status as at 31.12.1937, 1946 to 1989 Former federal territory and territory of the former GDR as a whole, from 1990 Germany. The data source shall be the Federal Statistical Office.’
