Tongue coating samples were collected from Japanese community-dwelling elderly adults aged 70-80 years in a health examination performed as a part of the follow-up survey of the Hisayama cohort study on 2016. The V1-V2 regions of 16S rRNA gene amplicons were analyzed using Ion PGM. The project goal is to understand the variation among normal tongue microbiota observed the community-dwelling elderly adults.
