Food allergy (FA) can lead to intestinal inflammation and tissue damage, allowing antigens easier access into the bloodstream and triggering more severe allergic symptoms. Oat beta-glucan (OBG), a linear polysaccharide primarily found in oat bran, has been demonstrated to possess immunomodulatory properties and regulate gut microbiota. This study aimed to investigate the impact of OBG on FA-induced colonic damage and allergic symptoms, and to explore its potential mechanism.
