The more the merrier - Multi-frequency magnetic susceptibility of loess and palaeosols as a sensitive climate proxy

This data set contains 

1) Summary files of the central data sets as Microsoft Excel worksheets

Multi-frequency DynoMag data for section Khonako-II (KH-II_chiBFD.xlsx)

Dual-frequency Kappabridge data for section Khonako-II (KH-II_full_profile_Kappa.xlsx)

2) R code to plot magnetic susceptibility data measured at multiple frequencies, and to perform a linear regression through these data points (calculate_fit.R). The data files used in this code are stored in folder MFMS_data.zip. The output data from this code, as presented in the Supplementary Material of the article, is stored in table TableSH1.xlsx

3) R code to plot hysteresis loops from MPMS data and to extract values of coercivity and exchange bias (coercivity_extrapolation.R). The data files used in this code are stored in folder mass-corrected_MPMS.zip.

4) R code to plot the magnetic susceptibility data for the Khonako-II section in Tajikistan (KH-II-chiBFD.R). The data files used in this code are stored in folder KH-II_section.zip. A summary of the individual data files and the results from the calculations are stored in table KH-II_chiBFD.xlsx.

5) R code to calculate magnetic particle size distributions from multi-frequency magnetic susceptibility data measured on the Dynomag instument (magnetic_particle_size_distribution_DynoMag.R) or a Quantum Design Magnetic Properties Measurement System (magnetic_particle_size_distribution_SQUID.R). The data files used in this code are stored in folder particle_size_distribution.zip. The same data files are used to simulate the effect of varying coercivity values and saturation magnetisation values on magnetic particle size distribution (magnetic_particle_size_model.R).
