Data for Beyond mistakes: same-sex partner acceptance and broad mating filters coexist in termite pairing

This study investigates the broadness of tandem running behavior in the termite *Reticulitermes amamianus*. During the mating season, mating pairs perform tandem running while searching for a nest site, with males following females. We investigated whether males follow non-mating individuals (workers and soldiers) in a manner similar to how they follow females. Behavioral observations include posture tracking from laboratory recordings of behavioral interactions. Data include SLEAP pose-tracking outputs (dish and well experiments), trained SLEAP models, and manual behavioral observations of worker attacks on dealates.
