Stone marten modifies small-rodent foraging activity rates after wildfire-Dataset

Prey species, as wood mouse, may adequate their foraging activity levels as predation pressure increases, selecting safe habitats and perceive the scents of predators to reduce predation risk. Here, I show that stone marten may alter small-rodent foraging behaviour after fire with a rapid acorn removal by small-rodents, which perceive predation risk, through direct encounters or by stress from predation risk perception. However, the strongest link affecting foraging activity is small-rodent abundance, which is in turn mainly affected by plant cover complexity.
