资源简介:
This dataset contains the crosstabulated survey response frequencies underlying the chi-square analyses reported in Ufomba (2026), "Logger Compliance Behaviour and the Effectiveness of Timber Regulations in Nigeria's Protected Forests." Data were collected between September and December 2023 in Oyo State, southwestern Nigeria, following ethical approval from Flinders University's Social and Behavioural Research Ethics Committee (approved 17 August 2023). The dataset reports frequency distributions and column percentages for five survey items, disaggregated by six stakeholder groups: forest reserve residents (n=59), timber traders (n=56), public officials (n=44), forestry researchers (n=34), members of forest conservation NGOs (n=20), and timber loggers (n=4). Total survey sample N=219. The five variables covered are: permit compliance (Q6), girth compliance (Q9), quota compliance (Q10), clear-cutting frequency (Q12), and park encroachment frequency (Q20). All items were measured on a five-point Likert scale (1=Never, 5=Always). Crosstabulations were exported from Qualtrics and are presented in their original format alongside derived percentage distributions used in the published analyses. Data collection was conducted under informed consent with full anonymity assured. No individual-level identifying information is contained in this dataset. Research permissions were obtained from the Federal Ministry of Environment, the Oyo State Government, and the Bodija Timber Sellers Association.
