The lack of inscription makes a precise dating for the statue very difficult. On stylistic grounds it is probably to be placed in the Saite Period (about 560 BC (?)). A peculiarity of the piece is the prominence given to the man's Adam's apple. The  statue is made out of black granite which also can hint to the date of its creation.   This object is part of Scan The World.
