Cardiovascular disease is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. The application of deep learning algorithms in cardiac medicine is gaining increasing attention. Image segmentation and the analysis of computed tomography (CT) images are crucial initial steps for important applications such as three-dimensional cardiac structure reconstruction, disease pre-diagnosis, and treatment planning. However, existing datasets often have limitations: they may be outdated, lack comprehensive coverage of cardiac components, originate from foreign sources, or lack annotations for cardiovascular diseases. To serve the Vietnamese cardiovascular patient population, the team conducted a comprehensive study of globally available public datasets, examined raw volumetric images from the Toshiba Aquiline ONE scanner, and performed manual segmentation and annotation of cardiac diseases under the guidance, supervision, and validation of doctors and experts. The final VHSCDD dataset overcomes the aforementioned limitations and promotes the experimentation, comparison, and development of deep learning algorithms in this field.
