Magnetization data of a gadolinium sample with shape approximating a rectangular prism with sides d1=5 mm, d2=1.2 mm, and d3= 1 mm. One set measured with field parallel to d1 and another to d2.

Measured on a MPMS3 SQUID magnetometer by Quantum Design.
The shape of the sampe influences the reading artificially, so, to isolate the contribution of the demagnetizing effect when comparing both orientations, a correction factor should be used to correct the sets.
