VPRS 5117 Prisoners Receiving and Personal Description Book

The purpose of the books is to maintain a record and personal description of prisoners received into custody. Information recorded about each prisoner includes the local annual gaol number; prisoner's registered number; name; number of previous convictions; last reference (being the most recent reference in this series of books); year of birth; native place; occupation; name of ship and date of arrival; religion; personal description; education; physical marks; when received; from where received; purpose; offence; date of conviction; sentence; and how disposed of.
