The here presented multi-locus Nanopore read data comprises 11 Pedicularis accessions (Orobanchaceae). The samples were prepared for sequencing using the AFLPseq genome-reduction method as proposed by Dorfner et al. (2022, DOI: https://doi.org/10.1002/aps3.11484), with the addition of conducting a double digest approach using the restriction enzymes MseI and EcoRI and the 'Ligation by Sequencing LSK109' protocol by Oxford Nanopore Technologies. With a modified version of the SLANG pipeline (Dorfner et al. 2022), 320 orthologous loci were inferred, containing 3,139 SNPs. After calculation of pairwise Jukes-Cantor distances, a PCoA plot demonstates clear isolation of P. rostratospicata subsp. rostratospicata on the first PCo axis (73.2% of total variation). The accessions of P. rostratospicata subsp. marsica and subsp. helvetica are further separated from each other on the second PCo axis (4.5% of total variation), also confirming the molecular autonomy of subsp. marsica together with morpholocial analysis. We therefore propose to treat Pedicularis rostratospicata subsp. marsica as a third independent subspecies besides P. rostratospicata subsp helvetica and subsp. rostratospicata.
