The field books contain departmental surveyor's observations, measurements and field notes taken while conducting checks or examining surveys of plans lodged for registration. This includes checks for boundary determinations. Observations may include details of interest about topography, soil types, vegetation, environmental features, occupations and improvements at the time the survey was conducted. Field books can also contain details and information including Surveyors name, the Lot or Potion or DP number, Parish, County, purpose of the plan, Primary application number, Volume/Folio or Book/Number details.
