Study on the strongyle parasite communities infecting Alberta feral horses, showing infection patterns that vary across season and host age. A total of 149 fecal samples were collected in between 2021-2022, and DNA metabarcoding was conducted on larval coprocultures. DNA metabarcoding was conducted using the ITS2 gene region and sequenced on the Illumina MiSeq platform.
