Arm Posture Matters: First Characterization of the Limb Position Effect in EIT-Based Hand Pose Estimation

This dataset contains synchronized Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) bioimpedance data and Ground Truth 3D hand pose data. It is designed to address the challenges of generalizability in wrist-worn physiological sensing. Unlike previous collections that rely on fixed arm positions, this dataset captures a comprehensive range of spatial variations to enable research into position-invariant and user-independent hand tracking.

The collection features 22 participants performing a variety of gestures across significantly diverse spatial configurations, capturing impedance changes caused by both hand articulation and forearm muscle deformation during natural arm movement.
