Bio-chemical data from Southern Black Sea, December 2022

The dataset contains hydrophysical data collected in Southern Black Sea withing the Turkish EEZ in December 2022 in framework of the R/V Bilim-2 cruise supported by EU-funded BRIDGE-BS project.

Discrete water samples were taken with Niskin bottles (12 L capacity) at depths, that were selected according to water density profiles. The CTD rosette with Niskin bottles was kept for at least 2 minutes at each sampling depth. In addition, the surface sampling was performed every 30 minutes during ROTV towing operations done at speed ~3.5 knots. The samples were further analyzed in the wet lab onboard for dissolved oxygen (by Winkler) and pH (by pH meter), and in METU-IMS lab for nutrients (by autoanalyzer) and chlorophyl parameters (by spectrometry). The data file in ODV format contains data from 100 stations on the following parameters: Dissolved Oxygen (Winkler), NH4, NO2-N, NO3-N+NO2-N, TN, PO4, TP, Si, TSS, Total Chl-a, Active Chl-a, Phaeophytin, pH, Secchi disk.
