This article examines the role of the competency-based approach in the development of national education programs and highlights its theoretical and practical significance in improving the quality of education. In modern educational systems, the competency-based approach is considered one of the most effective mechanisms for preparing learners for real-life situations, professional activity, and active participation in society. The study analyzes the essence of competencies, their structural components, and the methodological foundations for integrating them into national curricula. Special attention is given to the importance of designing educational programs on the basis of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and practical experience, rather than limiting them to the transmission of theoretical information alone.
