Mapping NSI Building Data to HAZUS Building Inventory

The aim of this project is to develop an algorithm that maps the building data from NSI data to be compatible with HAZUS building inventory. NSI data provides information about building material (i.e., concrete, steel, masonry, wood), number of stories, occupancy, and age. Though, HAZUS building inventory involves more detailed information about the structural system of the buildings (e.g., moment frames, shear walls, etc.). To map the limited data provided by NSI about the buildings to more detailed data by HAZUS, a MATLAB code is developed to do so.
