This project contains data from sequencing analyses of soil microbial communities taken from the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology Countryside Survey conducted across 2019 and 2020. A subset of 100 samples was selected across a habitat and environmental gradient in order to encompass a diversity of different soil characteristics. We are unable to disclose locations but further environmental metadata is available for each sample at https://catalogue.ceh.ac.uk/documents/2069de82-619d-4751-9904-aec8500d07e6 (2019 and 2020 links) using the ENA sample alias to match to SQUARE and PLOT columns
