The Dual-Modal Ship Detection (DMSD) dataset is a paired visible-infrared dual-modal dataset constructed for maritime target detection tasks, and is an important component of the maritime multimodal data resource system developed by the team. This dataset is synchronously collected by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with visible light and infrared cameras, with inter-modal registration achieved via affine transformation. It can be used for researches such as dual-modal target detection, cross-modal feature fusion, and robust detection under complex sea conditions. The dataset contains a total of 2163 pairs of dual-modal images, totaling 4326 images with 19567 ship instances. Among them, there are 2163 visible light images and 2163 infrared images, covering various conditions including sunny days, rainy days, foggy days, backlighting scenarios, and nighttime, and includes both multi-target scenes and multiple types of ship samples. It can support the training and evaluation of various multimodal detection methods such as YOLO and CFT.
