Stress, Dyadic Coping, and Marital Satisfaction of 118 Dual Earner Couples in Indonesia

in dataset was collected from 118 dual-earner couples in Indonesia, which took
place June to December 2019 and was approved by the Committee on Research
Ethics at Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Indonesia (No: 521/F.Psi.Komite
Etik/PDP.04.00/2019). All measures were
translated from English into Bahasa Indonesia by an Indonesian psychology
lecturer who is fluent in both English and Bahasa Indonesia. Following this
initial procedure, the translated versions were back-translated to English by
other lecturer who is fluent in both languages. External stress was measured
with the Multidimensional Stress Questionnaire for Couples (MSQ-C;Bodenmann et
al., 2007); Marital satisfaction was
measured with Couple Satisfaction Index (CSI;Funk & Rogge, 2007); DC was measured with the
Dyadic Coping Inventory (DCI; Bodenmann, 2008; Randall et al., 2016), for the purpose of this study
only we use 14 items that examines the following: perceived partner’s emotion
and problem focused supportive DC; emotion and problem focused common DC;
perceived partner’s stress communication. Average scores were
calculated for further analysis.
