Lianhuanhua as visual narrative news

This dataset comprises lianhuanhua articles published on Chinese media platforms (2013–2023), collected to analyze the discourse style of "visual narrative news." Ten articles per year were randomly selected based on equal probability. From 110 initial articles, nine were excluded because they failed to conform to the lianhuanhua format (visual-narrative structure is core) and were classified as "soft news" (e.g., entertainment, gossip), which prioritizes entertainment over social issues, unlike hard news focused on politics or public affairs.
