The data being shared contains the results of direct numerical simulations (DNS) of multi-phase fluid flow (buoyant rise of oil drops in water) coupled with the transport of three scalars/species: (i) a dissolved nutrient/chemoeffector, (ii) motile, chemotactic bacteria, and (iii) non-motile bacteria. The nutrient is transported (advection-diffusion) due to the fluid flow and its own diffusivity. The chemotactic bacteria can swim with respect to the fluid and are attracted to the dissolved nutrient and are also transported by the fluid-flow. The non-motile bacteria only act as passive tracers in the flow. Two types of data are being shared: (1) raw result of the DNS for the case of a baseline simulation and (2) time evolution of the dimensionless values of the rates of nutrient consumption by motile and non-motile bacteria, for various bio-physical parameters involved in the study.
