This dataset contains the raw and processed data supporting the findings of the manuscript titled "Surface–Bulk Performance Decoupling Governs the Natural Weathering of Outdoor Bamboo Fiber Materials across Climatic Zones" (Tracking #: 2026-15367) submitted to PNAS.
It includes all quantitative and qualitative results from the 12-month natural weathering experiments on outdoor bamboo fiber materials (OBFM) across three representative Chinese climatic zones (Danzhou, Chengdu, Bayannur). The dataset covers macroscopic performance, mechanical properties, chemical composition, and macromolecular structural evolution data, as well as supporting materials for the identified surface–bulk decoupling behavior, climate-specific degradation pathways, and the proposed climate-adaptive design principles.
