The CSA Propylaea Project

The aim of the project was to document the Propylaea (5th century, BCE, entrance building to the Acropolis) on a stone-by-stone basis, using CAD to record the final data. The project was not completed, and CAD models are available only for the NW wing and other relatively small portions of the building. Both technological and practical problems slowed the project. Data include the following: text (HTML) documents concerning the project, the building, and some of the technical and practical problems and their solutions, CAD models of various parts of the NW wing of the building plus other CAD models (one of the SE anta, one of a single column on the east façade, one of the roof of the NW wing, and one of a portion of the north wall of the central portion of the building), hundreds of photographs, data tables for survey information and photographs, scans of survey notebooks (PDF format), and information to help users of either the photographs or the CAD models. There are also documents concerning the proper use of CAD technology.
