资源简介:
The data set consists of a gas hydrate assessment using 120 petroleum industry wells in the North Carnarvon Basin, offshore Western Australia. Well data was downloaded from the Geoscience Australia database. The gas hydrate stability zone (HSZ) was identified for each well, based on bottom water temperature, bottom hole temperature and hydrostatic pressure. The presence of hydrate is evaluated using resistivity and gamma ray well logs. Some wells had additional data such as P-wave velocity and bulk density which was used when available. A background resistivity was identified or calculated for each hole and resistivity increases above background (0.5 ohm-m and above) were used to identify potential gas hydrate accumulations. The highest resistivities above background were categorized as "A" accumulations, and the lowest were categorized as "D", following the categorization of Majumdar et al., 2017 (Marine and Petroleum Geology). The data file is in Excel spreadsheet format, with column headers. The data set was generated as part the project called, Carbon storage in widespread low-saturation gas hydrate systems. Funding was provided from NSF CAREER award OCE17-52882.
