Proteomic analysis of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma reveals dysfunction of the coagulation and complement cascades

Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is one of the most common hepatobiliary malignancy with poor prognosis after surgery. A number of previous studies have focused on pathogenesis or pathological biomarkers of the disease, but the complicated molecular mechanisms are not fully understood as yet. For better understanding of the protein expression underlying ICC and helping guide future therapeutic strategies, in this study, we used the technology of TMT integrated with the analysis of liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to identify differentially expressed proteins in 6 pairs of ICC and adjacent normal tissues.
