资源简介:
Myth is the prominent part of folk tradition. It is thoroughly embedded in our psyche, behavior, culture, tradition, religion and gender roles. The discourse of mythology generally glorifies masculine proficiency and portrays women as feeble, docile puppets, victims or mute observers. Feminist writers have always been worried about the absence and subjugated portrayal of women myths. Kavita Kane is one of the eminent Indian writers who brought into attention the neglected women characters in mythology by reinterpreting Hindu myths from gynocentric perspective. The present paper aims to reinterpret Hindu myths in her novels: Karna's Sister (2014), Wife: The Outcast's Queen (2013), Menaka's Choice (2015), Lanka's Princess (2017), The Fisher Queen's Dynasty (2017) and Ahalya’s Awakening (2019).
