Bwindi_Mountain_Gorillas_Whole_Genome_Sequencing

The mountain gorilla is highly endangered and despite recent conservation efforts helping to increase the number of individuals, only a few hundred gorillas are currently alive, restrict in two National parks in Africa. It is important to study the genetic diversity and population structure in this subspecies to help the conservation efforts. We will investigate the history of the second population from the Bwindi Impeneatrable Nation Park in this study and to reconstruct the genetic relatedness with the previously studied population from the Virunga National Park. This will inform the conservation management of this subspecies.
