Fecal microbiota as a predictor of acupuncture responses in patients with postpartum depressive disorder

Several clinical and molecular predictors of antidepressant therapy have been identified. However, these markers are either subjective or complex, which limited their clinical use. Gut microbiota could provide an easily accessible biomarker to predict therapeutic efficacy, but its value for predicting acupuncture responses in depression is unknown. Here we analyzed the gut microbiota in patients with postpartum depressive disorder treated with acupuncture to predict treatment efficacy.
