Aboveground biomass, plant stem density, and total petroleum hydrocarbon data for salt marshes along Barataria Bay, Oct 2011

Plant aboveground biomass, plant stem density, and surface soil total petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations of various oiled salt marshes were analyzed to study the effects of and recovery from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Samples were collected from seven marsh locations each that received no oiling (as reference), moderate oiling, or heavy oiling along northern Barataria Bay, Louisiana in October 2011.
