Global Dam Watch database version 1.0

This is the Global Dam Watch (GDW) database of river barriers and reservoirs, version 1.0. The database development is fully described in Lehner et al. 2024 (see DOI-link in References below).
There are 2 zip files (one in Geodatabase format and one in Shapefile format):
"GDW_v1_0_gdb.zip" contains both river barriers (points) and reservoirs (polygons) including all attribute information, in Geodatabase format"GDW_v1_0_shp.zip" contains both river barriers (points) and reservoirs (polygons) including all attribute information, in Shapefile format; additionally there is a comma delimited text file containing all barrier attributesEach of the zip-files contains a Technical Documentation (GDW_TechDoc_v1_0.pdf) which provides additional information.
