Samples from trenches at a site in Kern County, California, were examined for pollen
and macrofloral remains. This site was excavated as part of the proposed Beacon Solar
Electric Project in the Fremont Valley of eastern Kern County. Pollen and macrofloral analyses
will be used to provide paleoenvironmental data, as well as subsistence information concerning
plant resources utilized by the site occupants.
