To explore the association of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) C677T polymorphism with risperidone-induced weight gain. We analyzed the association between MTHFR C677T polymorphism and risperidone-induced weight gain in 356 schizophrenia patients. We found a significant association between MTHFR C677T polymorphism and body mass index (BMI) change after 8-week treatment with risperidone. After 8- week treatment with risperidone, increased BMI values (kg/m2) of MTHFR C677 carriers was significantly higher than that of TT genotype carriers
