The Norwegian Currency Register contains information about currency exchange and the transfer of means of payment into and out of Norway. This applies to, among other things, card use abroad, and cash you bring in or out of Norway that you have declared to Norwegian Customs. Banks, financial institutions and payment companies in Norway that have been granted a licence or permission from Finanstilsynet are required to report to the Norwegian Currency Register. — Purpose: The purpose is to prevent and combat crime and to contribute to the correct tax payment.
