Mortality from stomach cancer in women in the Basque Country (1996-2003)

Malignant stomach tumors (CIE-9: 151; ICD-10: C16)* caused 1.6 % of deaths during the study period. Between 1990 and 2004, mortality from this tumor experienced an average annual decrease of 4.3 %. Mortality in the CAPV followed a north-south geographical pattern, with areas at risk of mortality lower than the whole of the CAPV that are mainly located in Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa.
