资源简介:

Abstract copyright UK Data Service and data collection copyright owner.

The dataset contains the results of a survey gauging public attitudes to price-fixing and cartel enforcement mechanisms. It was carried out in Britain, Germany, Italy and the United States. This research builds on a 2007 survey by the same author (Public Attitudes to Price Fixing in Britain, 2007, held under SN 7884), which was the first ever survey of GB consumer attitudes to cartels. To ensure balanced and unbiased results, respondents were mainly presented with various scenarios and were asked to either agree or strongly agree with one of two balanced alternatives. They also had the option to agree with neither, or select "don't know". The survey asked respondents about their attitudes towards price-fixing and their preferences in relation to punishment, leniency and other relevant enforcement tools. The conclusions are likely to find similar attitudes and preferences between consumers in each of the four jurisdictions, despite significant differences in culture, legal tradition and levels of enforcement.
