In order to gain insight into the genomic architecture of reproductive isolation between two west-Pacific pen shells (Atrina japonica and Atrina lischkeana) based on SNP profiles, we constructed a draft genome sequence for A. japonica. This draft genome serves as a reference genome for identifying SNPs and locating genes contributing to the reproductive isolation between the two species.
