"Ambatovinaky-bakken i hovedstaden. Paa toppen den norske kirke, laengere nede det under bygning franske theater" ("The Ambatovinaky road in the capital. On top the Norwegian church, further down the French theater under construction"). There are many people walking up and down the road. In the middle of the picture a young boy and a horse with a saddle on. The boy is wearing lamba. The church was inaguarated in 1875 and built by T. Rosaas and J. Engh.
