Genetic analysis of oligo-metastatic breast cancer: correlation with clinical outcomes

For breast cancer patients with oligo-metastatic disease, there is a lack of clear and uniform gene marker for the prognosis of these patients based on the present evidence. We found the prognostic values of PIK3CA H1047R, HER2 and VUS in oligo-metastasis, as well as common shared alterations in oligo- and poly-metastasis through the genetic analysis of samples. These findings are helpful for identifying patients in different level of risk in order to individualize clinical prognosis and treatment decisions and providing suggestions to the management of oligo-metastatic breast cancer.
