The extraction of near-surface geothermal heat is carried out, among other things, via geothermal probes. A geothermal probe is a hole of an average depth of 40 to 150 m, into which four plastic pipes are usually inserted in pairs at the lower end. The remaining cavity between the plastic pipes and the rock is pressed from bottom to top with a concrete-tone mixture. A heat transfer agent (water-glycol mixture) circulates in the plastic tubes, which absorbs the heat from the substrate and transports it to the heat pump in the building. The geothermal probe bores recorded in the Bavarian Soil Information System are shown. In addition to selected master data, the short and detailed information on the geothermal probes includes information on groundwater, the depth of the rock layers, rock response according to DIN 4023 and stratigraphy. This data can be ordered from the data centre of the Bavarian State Office for the Environment after reviewing the data protection regulations (in accordance with the Environmental Fees Regulations).
