Stable isotope analyses of model species collected aboard R/V Point Sur cruises DP03 and DP04 to examine marine food webs of the northern Gulf of Mexico from 2016-05-01 to 2016-08-18

This dataset contains stable isotope analyses of model species collected aboard R/V Point Sur cruises DP03 and DP04 to examine marine food webs of the northern Gulf of Mexico from 2016-05-01 to 2016-08-18. These data represent stable isotope values (13C/15N) of deep pelagic micronekton collected in the northern Gulf of Mexico during 2016. Isotope values are derived from white muscle tissue dissected from 616 individual fishes, crustaceans and cephalopods that were collected using 10 m-2 MOCNESS trawls towed from the surface to depths of 1500 m. The samples were collected as part of an ongoing effort to describe the trophic ecology of major functional groups within deep-pelagic environments of the northern Gulf of Mexico.
