This bacteria was isolated from soil and tested against surrogate pathogens to detect antimicrobial properties. It was selected for whole genome sequencing because identification assays (i.e. 16S Sanger sequencing and MALDI-TOF) were unsuccessful as well as because of its antibiotic potential and unique pigmentation.
